Kakao has expanded its generative artificial intelligence service "ChatGPT for Kakao" to the PC version of KakaoTalk, extending the service from mobile to PC. On the 15th, Kakao unveiled new features as part of KakaoTalk's sixth regular update, which applies to KakaoTalk version 26.6.0 and above. The update includes photo editing capabilities powered by OpenAI's image generation model, allowing users to regenerate photos in chat rooms using "ChatGPT Image 2.0" by selecting an image and tapping the "AI Creation" button to apply templates like "Anime Style" or "Colored Pencil Drawing." A "Conversation Summary" button has also been added to help users catch up on messages in group chats. In open chat rooms, Kakao introduced a beta chatbot feature that provides information on topics like weather or stock prices. For business users, operators of KakaoTalk channels can now delete messages within 24 hours of sending them. A Kakao representative stated, "Based on user feedback, we will continue to enhance the service so that everyday communication and AI experiences connect naturally."
