Semperis is expanding its presence in Asia Pacific as its Identity Resilience Platform received accreditation from Singapore’s Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA). The company recorded triple digit revenue growth across Asia, including Southeast Asia, Australia and New Zealand, and Japan. Semperis named Shekhar Thakurdesai as AVP of India and SAARC business, with Nick Lowther and Daniel O’Mara joining in key sales roles, and Ridwan Basri as Asia Regional Director - Channel & Alliances. Thakurdesai told CRN Asia that three things are driving regional growth: the changing threat landscape, digital transformation and continuous investment by Semperis. He said organisations increasingly understand that compromising identity can potentially compromise the entire enterprise, and high-profile ransomware and identity attacks have made this a board-level resilience issue rather than simply an IT security issue. He noted APAC organisations are moving to hybrid and multi-cloud environments, while Active Directory and Entra ID remain fundamental, creating a significant identity security and resilience opportunity. Thakurdesai said Semperis has invested heavily in the region, building local teams, establishing its Singapore presence, expanding its partner ecosystem and achieving IMDA accreditation. He called India particularly exciting due to rapid digital transformation, significant investment in digital infrastructure, increasing cyber threats and growing regulatory focus on data and security, adding that Indian organisations are asking how quickly they can recover if identity infrastructure is compromised.
