Canadian AI company Koheer will establish a Korean corporation and expand its workforce in Korea, targeting regulated industries such as public, financial, and telecommunications through a "Sovereign AI" strategy that lets companies control and use AI safely. At a press conference at Westin Chosun in Sogong-dong, Seoul on the 5th, Koheer presented a roadmap to more than triple its customer size in the Asia-Pacific market, including South Korea, by next year. Business Director Frank O'Dowd said, "Cohere started Sovereign AI from the beginning," adding, "Our role is to help companies use AI while protecting their own data, which is their competitive advantage." Founded in 2019 and headquartered in Toronto, Canada and San Francisco, USA, Koheer is led by CEO Aidan Gomez, who participated in the study of the "Transformers" structure. Its cumulative investment attraction is $1.6 billion (about 2.28 trillion won), and it focuses only on the B2B market. Its core solution is "North," a corporate AI agent platform usable in environments like own servers and clouds. Koheer's Japanese partner Fujitsu uses 'Takane,' a model based on Koheer's base model 'command.' Koheer also announced it will launch a 1 trillion parameter model within this year.
