Tesla's Q2 2026 earnings report revealed that its installed AI compute capacity at Gigafactory Texas more than doubled in megawatts (MW) from January to June, with the bulk of the additional capacity coming online in Q2. Tesla finished 2025 at roughly 115 MW of training capacity, which edged up to around 135 MW at the end of Q1 2026 before nearly doubling to approximately 260 MW by the end of Q2, driven primarily by the activation of new supercomputing clusters. Tesla also projected nearly 400 MW of AI compute at Giga Texas by the end of this year. Tesla said in the report that "Cortex 2 supports the development of both vehicle and humanoid robot autonomy software." The expanded compute capacity supports training neural networks for Full Self-Driving software, the driverless Robotaxi service, and Optimus humanoid robots. During the earnings call, executives confirmed Tesla Robotaxis are already running FSD v15, and Tesla revealed its Robotaxi vehicles have driven over 380,000 unsupervised miles across multiple cities. Elon Musk also announced during the call that FSD is coming to the Tesla Semi.
