A ribbon cutting for the new Farmers Savings Bank at 1200 Commercial Ct. was celebrated June 18 in Manchester, with bank employees, city and county officials, and community members in attendance. The event was bittersweet for the staff, as they celebrated without co-owner Jolene Niehaus, who passed away just days earlier. During the open house, a poster honored Niehaus, and an emotional Jeff Juergens told those gathered, “As some of you might know, we’ve had a recent loss in the family. We lost a very special, very important business partner, a sister, a wife, a mother, a grandmother and … that special person’s name is Jolene Niehaus, that’s our sister.”
