In June, traffic attributed to AI platforms accounted for 1.07% of all visits across career sites hosted by HireClix, with approximately 90% of that AI traffic coming from ChatGPT. One government contractor received 6.89% of its career-site visits from AI platforms, up from 1.33% in January, though search engines still generated 63% of all visits and job boards accounted for 30%. Neil Costa, CEO of HireClix, said employers should view AI discoverability as an extension of search optimization, noting, “It’s not dominant, but it’s a pretty quick ramp.” Ritu Mohanka, CEO of VONQ, said employers are reconsidering their dependence on a small number of platforms, adding that AI agents can search for jobs, evaluate matches, and submit applications through technical integrations without the candidate opening a job page. “If you’re only measuring AI referral traffic,” Mohanka said, “you’re measuring the last visible mile of a process that’s becoming invisible.”
