Amazon Web Services announced that Amazon Connect Talent, an agentic artificial intelligence solution for hiring, is now generally available, according to a Thursday (Sept. 17) update to an article originally published in April. The solution is designed to help enterprises accelerate high-volume hiring from job description to hiring decision in days rather than weeks, using AI agents to analyze role requirements, generate an interview plan, invite candidates to interview on their own schedule 24/7, conduct voice interviews and deliver a prepared brief to the recruiter. Colleen Aubrey, senior vice president at AWS, said AI agents evaluate candidates with job-related assessments and surface qualified candidates faster than traditional processes, with recruiters reviewing AI-generated scores with full transcripts and notes and making the call. AWS announced in April that it was expanding Amazon Connect into specialized agentic AI solutions including Amazon Connect Talent, Amazon Connect Decisions, Amazon Connect Customer and Amazon Connect Health. During a July 30 earnings call, Amazon CEO Andy Jassy said Amazon sees "a very substantial opportunity" in building agentic applications for customers and AWS, adding that its agentic AI-powered contact center platform is used by major airlines, banks and healthcare companies and continues to grow quickly.
