OpenAI has unveiled its first hardware product, the Codex Micro, a Macro Pad revealed at the World Expo for Artificial Intelligence Engineers. OpenAI spokesperson Dominik Kundel stated the keyboard will improve efficiency in using Codex. The device is a co-branded product with Work Louder, a peripheral company specializing in customized keyboards. The Codex Micro is deeply adapted to the workflow of Codex, an AI Coding Agent tool with a weekly active user base of over 5 million. Andrew Ambrosino, in charge of OpenAI's Codex desktop application, mentioned that Codex has become a tool for all employees within OpenAI, used by marketing, legal, finance, and communication teams for tasks including file organization, data analysis, and video editing.
