Naver Webtoon announced on the 1st that it has launched an AI story chat "byUs," which allows users to create their own stories while talking to AI characters in webtoons. Using only official IP approved by the original author, "byUs" provides two content experiences: original story and fan story. The original story involves a user talking with a character and developing a new narrative based on the original's world view and character setting. Fan stories allow users to set new situations and relationships based on the original characters. "byUs" also introduces features including "Recommended Answers," "Autoplay," "Snapshots," and "Special Cut," which provides images of reward characteristics sequentially depending on the level of favorability. Naver Webtoon plans to expand its IP lineup starting with "Electronic Log." Kim Shin-hyung, head of Naver's webtoon IP business, stated that "Webtoon is moving beyond 'view' content to 'interactive' where fans directly participate in and expand their worldview." "byUs" is available on the More View menu in the Naver Webtoon app.
