Siri AI, by contrast, is a personal assistant tied directly to the user’s device, able to perform actions within apps and understand personal context. With user permission, it can access messages, email, photos, the calendar, and various apps to carry out practical tasks on-device, such as finding a specific message or extracting a booking number from an email. Privacy is a key differentiator for Apple, with Siri AI doing most data processing on-device and tapping a private cloud infrastructure only when extra computing power is needed.
