Anthropic's amended registration statement, filed with the US Securities and Exchange Commission on November 2, 2026, shows that for the three months ended June 30, 2026, the company recorded operating income of $974 million on revenue of $11,555 million, exceeding the May 20, 2026 Wall Street Journal report that it was on course for its first operating profit of $559 million on revenue expected to more than double to $10.9 billion. The same filing shows a net loss of $66,309 million for that quarter, the largest of any quarter in the prospectus, and shows the company returned to an operating loss of $567 million in the third quarter. Its risk factors state that Anthropic has "incurred net losses in each year since our founding" and "may not achieve or sustain profitability in the future." The filing makes the distance between the income statement lines measurable for the first time, and whether the company is called profitable depends on which number is chosen.
