DeepL announced on the 18th that it will acquire Mixhalo, a real-time, ultra-low-latency audio platform, to strengthen real-time voice translation for complex, large-scale events such as international conferences, sports games and concerts. DeepL will integrate Mixhalo's audio infrastructure into its real-time AI voice translation solution, DeepL Voice, to deliver real-time translated audio and captions clearly while keeping a natural speaking flow at events with tens of thousands of participants. Mixhalo was co-founded in 2016 by Mike Einziger, Ann Marie Simpson-Einziger, and Big Singh, and has raised a total of $39 million from major venture capital firms. Mixhalo's CEO Big Singh stated the platform delivers high-quality audio with under 20 milliseconds of latency. DeepL's CEO Jarek Kutylowski said the companies are collaborating to build real-time language AI communication infrastructure. According to DeepL, DeepL Voice scored 96.4 in quality in an independent benchmark study by Slator this year, outperforming Microsoft Teams, Zoom and Google Meet in accuracy, naturalness and stability, with an error rate of 4%, significantly lower than the market average of 17%.
