SpiralAI has announced RyzaChat: Your Midsummer Dream Story with AI Ryza, an AI chat RPG based on the Atelier Ryza series, co-developed with Koei Tecmo’s studio Gust. The game is scheduled to launch sometime in August 2026, with pre-registrations open starting today. Set on Kurken Island, progression unfolds solely through interactions with a Ryza-based conversational AI, with the first objective helping Ryza build a boat to leave the island. New quests are generated as players advance, promising an essentially unlimited number of personalized quests. The world map follows the original games’ setting, allowing travel for exploration, material gathering, combat, synthesis, and construction alongside the full cast from the original trilogy. RyzaChat has no fixed scenario, and players can switch to a Chat Mode for casual conversations. SpiralAI says all illustrations, character portraits, promotional videos, and key visuals were created by human artists under the supervision of original illustrator Toridamono, guaranteeing no AI-generated video or images. Ryza’s voice synthesis is based on recordings made specifically for the app by voice actress Yuri Noguchi, using SpiralAI’s in-house model “Kotodama.” Dialogue uses SpiralAI’s proprietary “SpiralLLM,” trained on the series’ scenarios and reference materials.
