Meta is testing a new 'Side Chat' feature on WhatsApp, reported WABetaInfo, allowing users to access Meta AI during conversations with friends or family without leaving the screen. This follows last month's launch of an 'Incognito' mode for chatting with Meta AI, which ensures the conversation between the user and the Meta AI bot is fully protected. Like the incognito chat mode, the 'Side Chat' is built on the company's Private Processing technology, which is superior to privacy protocols used in other private platforms; no one can read the conversation, not even Meta. When a user starts a conversation with Meta AI, it creates a private, temporary conversation that only the user can see, processed in a secure environment that even Meta cannot access. The conversations are not saved, and messages disappear after a set time. In a related development, Meta is also testing a feature allowing voice and video calling to group chat users on WhatsApp via a browser application, linking the computer through the QR Code connection feature.
