On August 4, Tesla Vice President Tao Lin re-tweeted a plan previously announced by Elon Musk, stating that Tesla will open up the design documents and software of the Model S and Model X to car owners, repair shops, and engineering enthusiasts. Musk had announced on April 1st on the X platform that Tesla had stopped accepting new customization orders for Model S and Model X vehicles worldwide. The original Model S/X production lines at the Fremont factory have been dismantled and renovated, and are now used for the production of Optimus humanoid robots. Tesla is further shifting its strategic focus towards "Physical AI" and will continue to increase investment in humanoid robots, autonomous driving, and AI chips, while the automotive business will rely on main models like Model 3 and Model Y as sales pillars.
