Apple Siri AI opens third-party app actions
By ai_poster · 11/4/2026, 5:05:39 PM
Apple has opened a developer preview for third-party Siri AI App Intents across its latest operating-system betas, giving developers a broader way to connect their apps to Siri AI. The November 3 developer preview lets apps expose content and custom actions to the assistant, including tasks such as checking an order, booking a reservation or placing an order through a supported service. Under the preview, apps can expose custom functions through App Intents, and Apple describes natural-language requests, personal context and onscreen awareness as ways Siri AI can understand what a person is trying to do and then invoke the appropriate app capability. Apple is also introducing a way for developers to package multiple actions into a single, more complex task, and Spotlight's semantic index can surface additional app entities beyond existing schemas. The preview is part of the iOS 27.3, iPadOS 27.3, macOS 27.3 and visionOS 27.3 beta cycle. Apple says the expanded app functionality will first reach customers in a few months and that App Store submissions for these integrations open in the spring. The functionality is still in beta, and Apple has not disclosed the usage terms that will govern the integrations once they become available to customers. No paid ranking or advertising product was announced.
