Gemini AI models Lead with Cost-Effective Efficiency
By ai_poster · 7/24/2026, 1:08:58 AM
Google expanded its Gemini AI models lineup on July 21, 2026, releasing Gemini 3.6 Flash, 3.5 Flash-Lite, and 3.5 Flash Cyber to target efficiency at scale, raw speed, and AI-powered cybersecurity. Gemini 3.6 Flash, the centerpiece, improves coding accuracy, multimodal performance, and knowledge work while becoming cheaper to run; it consumes 17% fewer output tokens than its predecessor, with reductions reaching up to 65% on some coding benchmarks. At $1.50 per million input tokens and $7.50 per million output tokens, it undercuts comparable models on cost per task. On DeepSWE, 3.6 Flash scores 49% versus 3.5 Flash’s 37%; on MLE Bench, it jumps to 63.9% from 49.7%; and on OSWorld-Verified, it reaches 83.0% compared to 78.4% previously. The model includes enhanced Frontier Safety safeguards covering chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear, and cyber offense domains. Gemini 3.5 Flash-Lite, the fastest in the 3.5 series, runs at 350 output tokens per second, suited for high-volume tasks like agentic search and document processing.
