Lightspeed Commerce Inc. launched “Lightspeed with Meta Conversions API” earlier this month for Lightspeed Retail, enabling brick-and-mortar merchants to sync in-store product catalogs and point-of-sale transactions with Meta’s advertising platforms. A week earlier, Lightspeed rolled out AI-driven and workflow-enhancing upgrades across its retail and restaurant platforms. The Meta Conversions API and new AI tools may support Lightspeed’s investment thesis by making the platform more embedded in customers’ operations, but they do not remove near-term execution risk around scaling the sales force and improving free cash flow. The broad AI and workflow upgrades could strengthen product stickiness and support expanding average revenue per customer. Lightspeed’s narrative projects $1.6 billion revenue and $3.4 million earnings by 2029, requiring 8.5% yearly revenue growth and about a $148 million earnings increase from -$144.4 million today. The most pessimistic analysts assumed only about 7.7 percent annual revenue growth and no profitability in three years.
