According to a Bloomberg report by Mark Gurman, Apple's upcoming overhaul of Siri in iOS 27 will include auto-deleting chats, a feature uncommon in other AI chatbots. In the Settings panel for the Siri app, users can choose to keep conversations forever, for one year, or just 30 days. Users will also be able to select whether Siri opens with a new chat or a "grid" of previous conversations. Apple will place tighter limits on Siri's memory, preventing it from pulling from previous conversations as liberally as rival systems, which should improve user privacy. Additionally, the report claims Apple will proclaim its AI experience as "ad-free," contrasting with OpenAI, which recently started rolling out sponsored ads in ChatGPT.
