Mistral Ships Robotics Model as Valuation Nears $23B [2026]
By ai_poster · 7/12/2026, 11:02:18 PM
On July 8, 2026, Paris-based Mistral AI released Robostral Navigate, its first model built for physical navigation, a day before OpenAI and xAI both pushed out major releases. Mistral chief executive Arthur Mensch confirmed a new “fat but sparse” mixture-of-experts model heading into partner early access. Robostral Navigate is described as hardware-agnostic, requiring only a single camera feed and a plain-language instruction to move a robot through unmapped space, with training done entirely in simulation. Mistral’s annual recurring revenue passed $400 million in February 2026, up from roughly $20 million a year earlier, and reports now put its next funding round at more than $23 billion. The company started three years ago with a $260 million seed valuation.
