The other face of AI operates within a technofeudal economy, where cloud capital interfaces like Alexa, Siri, Google Assistant, and Amazon’s recommendation algorithm already collect hefty cloud rents. Advanced AI bots will know users perfectly, remember everything they have said, done, or wanted, and predict reactions, pushing users to the edge of tolerability without going overboard. This differs from ordinary surveillance capitalism, where machines spy for targeted ads; instead, AI interfaces from Amazon, Meta, and Google will communicate in unimaginably sophisticated ways, amplifying the extractive power of big tech companies.
