Starting next year, Kia will begin launching vehicles equipped with Hyundai’s new Pleos infotainment system, with deployment starting in 2027. Hyundai introduced the “Pleos” software brand last year and plans to have over 20 million vehicles equipped with the tech by the end of the decade, including Kia and Genesis models. Hyundai is focusing on flagship models first; the new Grandeur debuted with Pleos in South Korea in May, selling over 10,000 units in its first month, up 80% from June 2025. Later this year, Hyundai will launch the redesigned Avante and Tucson with the technology. Based on Android Automotive OS, Pleos includes an available 12.9″ or 14.6″ center screen and an optional instrument cluster, plus Hyundai’s AI companion Gleo AI, built on a large language model. Hyundai’s first European vehicle with Pleos is the IONIQ 3, which debuted at the Goodwood Festival of Speed. Which Kia vehicles will be first is unconfirmed, but the Kia K9 and electric EV9 are likely candidates.
