McLaren Racing and Google Gemini unveiled a special one-off livery for the MCL40 at the 2026 British Grand Prix at Silverstone. The design, shaped by the campaign tagline "Spark What’s Next," celebrates the breakthrough ideas that started a legacy and honors the McLaren M2B, the team’s first-ever Formula 1 car which debuted at the 1966 Monaco Grand Prix. In the same year, Bruce McLaren secured the team’s first point in Formula 1 at the British Grand Prix. The livery builds on the team’s 1,000th Grand Prix milestone earlier this season in Monaco, where Mika Häkkinen drove the M2B. Over a single season, a Formula 1 car can undergo approximately 18,000 design changes. The collaboration uses Gemini’s creative tools such as Nano Banana and Omni for brand campaigns. On the track, McLaren Racing uses Gemini Enterprise to make faster decisions, including a custom Gemini-powered tool that allows trackside engineers to quickly search and compare dense sporting regulations during a race, and a natural language interface enabling engineers to pull data from multiple siloed systems.
