OpenAI has unveiled Codex Micro, a hardware macro pad keyboard, during the Artificial Intelligence Engineers World Expo. OpenAI spokesperson Dominik Kundel stated the device will significantly enhance efficiency when using Codex. The co-branded device, developed with peripherals company Work Louder, resembles the Creator Micro 2 and features 13 mechanical keys, a joystick, and a touch sensor. Codex is OpenAI’s AI coding agent tool with over 5 million weekly active users. Andrew Ambrosino, who leads the Codex desktop application at OpenAI, mentioned that Codex has become a company-wide tool at OpenAI, used by teams in marketing, legal, finance, and communications for tasks including organizing files, analyzing data, managing releases, reading Slack, and assisting with video editing.
