University of Southampton Delhi has partnered with the Raspberry Pi Foundation to bring the Experience AI initiative to India, aiming to introduce students to artificial intelligence through free resources based on original research. This marks the Raspberry Pi Foundation’s first partnership of its kind in India. The initiative aims to train almost 400 school educators and reach approximately 8,000 students in one year. Experience AI, co-developed by the Raspberry Pi Foundation and Google DeepMind, supports teachers and includes lesson plans, slide decks, videos, student activities, and assessments, along with new resources on AI safety. The launch event on 13 July 2026 featured speeches and presentations by leadership from both organizations. University of Southampton Delhi, in collaboration with Tatras Data, will drive the training of school educators, who will subsequently deliver the programme to students across public and private schools in India. Teachers in over 190 countries have already downloaded the Experience AI resources. The University, described as India’s first fully comprehensive, UGC approved international branch campus and part of the UK Russell Group, has AI modules embedded across its academic programmes.
