Hexaware Technologies CEO R Srikrishna warns that AI advancements are forcing a fundamental overhaul of IT service business models, describing the current industry environment as a "knife fight." While AI coding assistants automate routine engineering tasks, threatening traditional billing based on engineering hours, the company is prioritizing trust and domain expertise to navigate intensifying competition. Srikrishna noted that AI labs like Anthropic and OpenAI are developing their own professional services arms, mirroring hyperscalers such as Microsoft and Amazon Web Services. Hexaware is rethinking its approach from sales to talent acquisition, emphasizing leadership for intense competition and deep domain expertise in areas like anti-money laundering and the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act. The firm is testing a more agile model, aiming to launch new service offerings monthly and validating them with 100 customers per quarter. In its CY25 performance, Hexaware reported revenue of Rs 13,430 crore and a profit of Rs 1,368 crore.
