Madhya Pradesh has moved toward technology-driven farming as Rajmata Vijayaraje Scindia Krishi Vishwa Vidyalaya (RVSKVV), Gwalior, submitted a ₹139-crore proposal to the state government for a Digital and Robotic Farming Project. If approved, the project will expand artificial intelligence, drones, robotics and sensor technology in agriculture, providing farmers with weather, soil and crop-related information via mobile phones. An AI-based agriculture laboratory will be developed on the university campus, where students, researchers and farmers will receive training in modern agricultural technologies, and the university plans to promote drones, agricultural robots and automated irrigation systems. RVSKVV has signed an MoU with the ANAM AI Centre at IIT Ropar, funded by the Ministry of Education, to develop and customise AI tools for agricultural requirements. Under the proposed project, AI- and sensor-based smart weather stations will be installed in 26 districts across the Malwa and Chambal regions within the next three months. The stations, around 7-8 feet tall, will collect weather and soil-related data within a radius of up to 25 km, transmitted through Airtel and BSNL networks, with farmers accessing information through a mobile app and the ANAM AI portal using login IDs. Farmers with a weather station in their field will receive a login ID to upload real-time photographs and receive financial incentives based on the number and quality of photographs uploaded. AI models will combine weather and crop
