S&P Global is expanding its collaboration with Microsoft to bring its proprietary data, insights and analytics directly into Microsoft 365 Copilot, giving financial and energy professionals access to company research, financial analysis and other intelligence workflows without leaving Microsoft’s productivity environment. The agreement, announced on August 12, extends an existing integration of S&P Global Energy AI Ready Data with Microsoft 365 Copilot. The expanded collaboration adds broader S&P Global content to Copilot in Excel and agentic experiences in Copilot Cowork, according to S&P Global. The integration is enabled by S&P Global’s AI Data Portal and its Deterministic Retrieval solution, also known as the Kensho LLM-ready API. The company said the system allows Microsoft 365 Copilot and related experiences to retrieve S&P Global content with cited and verifiable results. Microsoft describes Copilot Cowork as an environment that can carry out tasks across Microsoft 365, while plugins can add specialized skills and connectors to external data sources. Microsoft’s documentation lists S&P Global Energy among the partner plugins available for Cowork.
