At Qualcomm's Investor Day, the company outlined its data center roadmap, including the Qualcomm Dragonfly C1000 CPU, Qualcomm High Bandwidth Compute (HBC), and Qualcomm Dragonfly AI300 inference accelerator, alongside custom silicon offerings and a CPU deal with Meta. Qualcomm is targeting the AI data center market as inference workloads become dominant, with a focus on efficiency for AI agents. CEO Cristiano Amon stated that "infrastructure has to deliver much higher performance at lower power and cost" and noted a strong pipeline of multi-year agreements. The Dragonfly C1000 CPU, designed for AI agent workloads, has more than 250 cores and is greater than 2x better performance per watt compared to existing server CPUs, but will be commercially available in 2028. Qualcomm HBC is a near-memory computing architecture, with commercial sampling of HBC Gen 1 with AI250 planned for mid-2027. The Dragonfly AI300 will power a third-generation rack for AI inference, with commercial sampling in 2028. Qualcomm also raised its outlook, projecting data center revenue of more than $15 billion by fiscal 2029. HUMAIN is among Qualcomm's first data center customers, and Microsoft outlined co-design efforts with the company.
