Koei Tecmo, Gust studio, and Japanese company SpiralAI unveiled RyzaChat: Your Midsummer Dream Story with AI Ryza, a mobile RPG centered on interacting with an AI version of Ryza. The game resembles an interactive text-based RPG: the player helps Ryza build a boat and leave Kurken Island, then accesses a world map with AI-generated quests completed via text commands. Other characters from the original Atelier Ryza trilogy will appear, though their roles are unspecified. A free chat mode will let Ryza respond to messages, change facial expressions, and use gestures. The dialogue model uses scripts from the Atelier Ryza trilogy and additional character materials. The creators call it an experiment at the intersection of generative AI and traditional RPGs, emphasizing that AI is used only for text generation and speech synthesis; illustrations, portraits, animations, and promotional materials are made by artists under Toridamono, the original Ryza designer. The speech synthesis system uses specially recorded lines from voice actress Yuri Noguchi. SpiralAI created a system for distributing a portion of revenue among artists, voice actors, and rights holders whose works are used. RyzaChat will be released on Android and iOS in August 2026, with pre-registration now open on Google Play and the App Store.
