The model is expected to compete with Anthropic's Opus 4.8 and OpenAI's GPT 5.5, processing information at lightning speed, after a previous delay to enhance efficiency. In June, Elon Musk's SpaceX announced an all-stock deal worth $60 billion to acquire Anysphere, the start-up behind Cursor, aiming to strengthen SpaceX's foothold in the enterprise AI tools market. The acquisition is expected to boost Cursor's growth, as it had been struggling due to limited access to computing power despite being a strong competitor. This move follows SpaceX's acquisition of xAI in February, further consolidating its position in the AI industry.
