A stalker used AI to fabricate images of herself with a man, pseudonymously identified as Luke, including fake dates and a pregnancy, to live out an obsessive fantasy for years. Luke, who had no knowledge of the fixation, only discovered it a few months ago when his sister was alerted to the photos by a friend and documented the ordeal in viral Threads posts. Luke told The Straits Times, “It is traumatizing to learn that your pictures were used in such an elaborate narrative.” The stalker was a former schoolmate from 15 years ago, to whom Luke said he “spoke no more than two sentences.” She created AI images of him holding their supposed newborn baby, claimed she had been with him since 2011, that she was pregnant, and that they were engaged to marry this December, even sending wedding invitations. A local bakery confirmed she ordered a cake for the imaginary baby. The stalker also used photos of the sister’s son, niece, and nephew, leading the sister to write, “Now we are so paranoid and so scared to post anything about the kids.” Luke’s sister stated, “We are still in so much shock that a person is capable to do all of this with the help of AI,” adding, “She was abusing the power of AI like mad.”
