Midjourney has announced Midjourney Medical, a new division focused on a full-body ultrasound scanner. The scanner involves stepping onto a platform in a shallow pool, which slowly lowers you through water at about 2 inches per second while underwater sensors send sound waves through your body. Computers then build a 3D map of what is happening inside your body. Midjourney says the scan could take about 60 seconds, using no radiation and no powerful magnets. The company calls the technology "Ultrasonic CT." Midjourney says its first scanner will focus on body composition maps, including details about muscle, fat and other body structures, noting that diagnostic medical uses would require regulatory clearance.
