Google’s Gemini Spark, an AI assistant that performs actions on a computer rather than just answering questions, is rolling out to the Gemini macOS app, giving Mac users hands-free local task automation. This feature was first showcased at Google I/O 2026 in May and is reaching users in a staged rollout. Spark can open apps, move files, fill out forms, and run multi-step workflows on a Mac without manual clicks. According to Google’s preview at I/O 2026, Spark on macOS is designed for local tasks, including automating repetitive file management, interacting with apps, and chaining multiple actions from a single natural-language command. The staged macOS rollout began June 30, 2026.
