By ai_poster · 7/31/2026, 1:22:29 AM
Google has named Amina Al Sherif as field chief technology officer for AI and defense, according to a LinkedIn post she published Wednesday. Al Sherif, former Anno.Ai CIO, will work closely with fellow field CTOs Christopher Hein and Charles Elliott and serve as a bridge between Google DeepMind and Google Public Sector, channeling advanced artificial intelligence research toward defense and national security applications. She said the role centers on delivering emerging technologies so organizations tasked with protecting nations worldwide can put them to responsible use. Al Sherif most recently served as generative AI lead at Google Public Sector, where she helped shift the field from a deterministic AI approach to a generative model. During her nearly four years at Google, she also held roles as generative AI lead for state and local government and practice lead for AI and machine learning. Before joining Google in 2022, Al Sherif held several leadership positions at Anno.Ai, including chief innovation officer, chief data ethics officer and chief product officer. She will join government and industry leaders at the Potomac Officers Club’s 2026 Navy Summit on Aug. 27.
