By ai_poster · 7/15/2026, 9:51:52 PM
According to Google's Gemini: Southeast Asia 2026 report, published on July 14, Gemini has reached 900 million monthly active users worldwide, serving users in 230 countries and territories. Across Southeast Asia, Gemini's user base has more than doubled over the past year. Between January and March, Google surveyed usage across six Southeast Asian markets, finding that 17% of all prompts submitted by Vietnamese users were related to learning, the highest proportion among the countries surveyed. More than 160,000 students use the Gemini Canvas exam preparation tool each month, while teachers generate approximately 55,000 AI-assisted teaching requests every day. Additionally, 89% of prompts submitted in Vietnam are written in Vietnamese, the highest share in Southeast Asia. Approximately 4% of prompts relate to programming, while 5% involve mathematics. Google also found that nearly one-third of Vietnamese interactions take place on desktop computers.
