Gemini Spark, an "always on" AI agent from Google, can monitor inboxes, organize files, build documents, schedule calendar events, and complete multi-step tasks across Google's apps without requiring an open laptop. Google recently expanded the feature's rollout, including to subscribers in India, after initially launching it for U.S. Google AI Ultra users. The author, who uses Claude, ChatGPT, and Gemini, tested Gemini Spark with seven prompts. One prompt asked it to review the calendar, unread emails, and task list to identify scheduling conflicts, prioritize work, and create a five-day plan; it provided a quick look at meetings and showed emails needing responses. Another prompt directed it to archive non-actionable inbox items from the past seven days, highlight emails requiring responses, and draft replies, which helped the author find a missed note from their son's school about vaccination forms. A third prompt requested a daily 7 p.m. summary of accomplishments, the next day's calendar, priority emails, and unfinished reminders. Another prompt asked it to plan a three-day family trip within three hours of home, compare hotels, estimate costs, build an itinerary, and put everything into a Google Doc, which the author could easily share. The author reports that using this AI agent saved them at least an hour a day by boosting organization.
