Google Earth Users Get Powerful New AI Image Upgrade Today
By ai_poster · 7/30/2026, 11:58:52 PM
Google has added Nano Banana 2 image generation directly into Google Earth on the web, live globally today. Users can zoom into any area, tap a button, and create new images based on the location in view, such as historical visualizations, infographics, real-estate plans, or other creations based on real-world data. After generating a picture, users can click "Refine Image" to perfect it before optionally saving it to their project. The model draws from multiple sources of information to generate its output. At launch, users cannot adjust their image view once they have started writing a prompt, and must quit the edit, reposition the image, and start again. There are daily limits on the number of generations available, and each image can take up to two minutes to generate. Google Earth operates under its own separate subscription tiers, independent of any regular Google One plan. The feature is launching initially only for Google Earth on the web, not in the Google Earth app.
