The Alberta Motor Association (AMA), established in 1926, has launched the AMA Agentic Platform, built on Amazon Web Services (AWS) using Amazon Bedrock AgentCore, to provide a governed AI foundation for its employees. The platform, developed by AMA’s AI Center of Excellence (CoE) with input from business apprentices, puts AI into the hands of all 1,800-plus employees. AMA launched the solution with Teddy, its first internal AI application, which reached over 50% adoption across business units and handled more than 7,000 requests within its first weeks. The impact was immediate, with multi-day tasks being completed in minutes. The solution uses modular services in Amazon Bedrock AgentCore to shield internal builders from infrastructure complexity, allowing them to focus on business logic. Teams write agent logic with Strands Agents, an open source SDK, and the solution provides a uniform way to build, deploy, and connect agents to internal APIs and tools. Freed from managing infrastructure, internal teams now ship agents to production four times faster, taking an idea live in under a week instead of months. The architecture connects to Amazon Bedrock AgentCore Runtime, Gateway, Code Interpreter, Identity, Policy, Memory, Amazon Bedrock Guardrails, and observability through Amazon CloudWatch and Datadog.
