Both letters call for formal congressional hearings with CEOs testifying under oath, a demand requiring Speaker Johnson and Republican committee chairs to schedule and authorize them. On the same day, Senator Bernie Sanders sent separate letters to Altman, Amodei, and Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg, demanding they stop building new AI models entirely, writing, "Pause AI development.
