According to Polymarket's forecast, Anthropic is highly likely to go public via IPO by the end of October. Some investment banking sources predict Anthropic may raise more than 60 billion U.S. dollars through the IPO, which would be the second largest IPO in the world, second only to SpaceX, which raised 85.7 billion U.S. dollars this year. Investors have started to persuade CEO Dario Amodei to stop scaring people and talk less about AI destroying the world, instead focusing on how AI makes money. Some investors believe Dario's vigilance against AI risks has reached a paranoid level: his key memos are handwritten and stored offline, he refuses some overseas business trips for fear of being kidnapped, and he insists Anthropic should continue to put its safety mission first. Over the past two years, Dario has warned that AI could eliminate half of entry-level white-collar jobs within a few years, pushing the unemployment rate to 10% to 20%. He proposed taxing AI companies to provide wage insurance and finance universal basic income. He also worries AI could help develop biological weapons, launch large-scale cyberattacks, or gain capabilities of deception, planning and autonomous action. Last year, he gave a 25% probability of "AI making things extremely bad". In January, he wrote a 20,000-word article titled "The Adolescence of Technology". In June, he proposed establishing a mechanism similar to aviation regulation.
