Nokia and Amazon Web Services (AWS) have expanded their collaboration to deliver autonomous networks built for the AI era. Announced from Espoo, Finland, on June 24, 2026, the partnership leverages AWS’s AI and cloud services for Nokia’s Autonomous Network Fabric, helping operators transition to networks operating at machine speed. Nokia’s solutions, running on AWS, gain elastic scalability, global availability, and broad model choices through cloud AI and ML services including Amazon Bedrock and Amazon SageMaker, enabling faster innovation and reduced infrastructure costs. Nokia is also engineering an optimized cloud footprint that minimizes compute and storage requirements versus traditional on-premises deployments. Oguz Sunay, CTO, AI and Autonomous Networks at Nokia, stated that the platform scales operators’ ambitions while maintaining control and governance. Amir Rao, global director for Telco Solutions at AWS, noted that Nokia’s decision to optimize its full operational stack on AWS means operators can take advantage of elastic scalability, purpose-built AI and ML services, and the most extensive global infrastructure footprint, compressing years of transformation into months.
