Indian-origin executives are leading major global companies, with Kunal Shah's appointment to lead WhatsApp adding a new name to the list. Shah, previously known as the founder of fintech company Cred and co-founder of FreeCharge, now steps into a global role at a platform with more than three billion users worldwide. His entry stands out because he comes from India’s startup ecosystem. Other top Indian-origin leaders include Satya Nadella, who has led Microsoft as CEO since 2014 and later became chairman, and Sundar Pichai, who became CEO of Google in 2015 and CEO of Alphabet in 2019.
