Anthropic’s Claude Opus 5 Max, released on July 24, 2026, secured the number two position on Agent Arena’s rankings, behind Anthropic’s own Claude Fable 5, while Claude Opus 5 High took the number three spot. Agent Arena, hosted at arena.ai, evaluates models on real-world agentic tasks using crowdsourced assessments and causal inference across five core metrics. Claude Opus 5 Max posted an 11.88% net improvement score, a 17.56% confirmed success rate, and a praise versus complaint ratio of 25.63%, the highest on the leaderboard. The High variant logged 11.73% net improvement and a 16.60% confirmed success rate. Opus 5 improves on Opus 4.8 in deep reasoning, long-horizon tasks, and efficiency, shipping with a one-million-token context window and up to 128K output tokens. Thinking capabilities are enabled by default, with a fast mode available. Pricing remains $5 per million input tokens and $25 per million output tokens. The model is now the default on Claude Max plans and the strongest available on Claude Pro. Previous releases Fable 5 and Sonnet 5 were added to the leaderboard in June and July 2026. There is no direct connection between Claude Opus 5’s performance and any cryptocurrency or blockchain project; no token was launched, no decentralized AI protocol
