In a recent interview with Cory Levy at the Internapalooza event, OpenAI CEO Sam Altman said that within the next six months, AI could reach a point where a descendant of ChatGPT can watch your screen, record meetings and calls, and have complete context of your life. Altman explained that users can choose what information they want the AI to access by connecting it to services such as text messages, email, documents or Slack. According to him, AI would not make decisions on the user’s behalf but could work alongside them by helping manage the huge amount of information they deal with every day. For example, a startup CEO may not have enough time to read every piece of customer feedback, and the AI could assist with tasks such as writing a sales pitch or preparing a strategy document. Altman also stressed that AI could act like a helpful colleague by suggesting new ideas or pointing out possible mistakes. He said, "I think we're only like one model generation away from this actually being incredibly useful." Altman said he hopes this could eventually change how work is done inside AI labs, including his own.
