Introducing the Life Sciences Verification Program

Anthropic introduced the Life Sciences Verification Program (LSVP), giving life science professionals access to its Mythos, Opus, and Sonnet models with safeguards more permissive for biology-related work. The company said it has already onboarded dozens of organizations through an early-access program and is now opening applications to the broader life science community. The program is launching in beta, initially for teams and institutions, with plans to expand access to individual Pro and Max plans over time. LSVP is designed to enable work currently blocked in generally available Fable models, including drug discovery, research biology, clinical development, and manufacturing, for academic labs, startups, and pharma companies. Applicants undergo verification covering research credentials, security standards, and ethical research oversight. Verified teams may apply for Standard Use or High-risk Use grants, usable across Claude Science, Claude.ai, Claude Code, and the API. Standard Use grants suit most life science work, can extend to entire teams, and are renewed once a year, applying to Mythos 5.1, Opus 5, and Sonnet 5 today and future models. High-risk Use is an add-on grant for areas blocked under Standard Use, removes all safeguards blocking life sciences requests, applies to a single research project, and must be renewed every six months. High-risk grants for Claude Opus 5 and Claude Sonnet 5 are available today.
