OpenAI family hire, ChatGPT shift

OpenAI is hiring a San Francisco-based Product Manager, Families to shape AI experiences for families, caregivers and older adults across its products, according to the company’s careers page accessed in July 2026. Sensor Tower estimates shared with TechCrunch say ChatGPT’s global share of users aged 35 and older rose from 26% to 31% year over year in Q2 2026, while the 18–24 share fell from 34% to 29%. In the U.S., nearly one in four smartphone users who are parents used ChatGPT during the quarter, up from 16% a year earlier. The job posting lists a base salary range of $293,000–$325,000 plus equity, requires 7+ years of product management experience and experience building for parents, families or other trust-sensitive consumer products, and states the hire will work across engineering, design, research, policy, legal, communications, finance and operations. OpenAI has not announced a family version of ChatGPT, a launch date, or a new subscription plan.
