Last week, AWS hosted the invite-only annual AWS Heroes Summit, bringing together global experts in fields like AI, serverless, and containers for collaboration and feedback sessions with AWS product teams. Day 1 featured a fireside chat with AWS CEO Matt Garman, and Day 2 included an AMA with James Hamilton. Recent launches include Web Search on Amazon Bedrock, which enables OpenAI models (GPT-5.4, GPT-5.5, and GPT-5.6 Sol/Terra/Luna) to browse the internet for real-time information while maintaining data residency with zero data egress. Runtime Instances on Amazon Bedrock AgentCore now allow deployment of AI agents on dedicated runtime instances. Vector search for Amazon DynamoDB enables storing and querying vector embeddings alongside existing data without a separate vector database. AWS Transform continuous modernization is now generally available, helping engineering teams analyze and remediate technical debt at scale. AWS Lambda functions now support increased network bandwidth, enabling functions outside a VPC configured with 2 GB of memory or more to access bandwidth scaling from 625 Mbps at 2 GB up to 3,000 Mbps.
