Meta’s AI Glasses: Your Questions Answered
By ai_poster · 7/8/2026, 8:25:41 PM
Millions of people now use Meta’s AI glasses every day for listening to music and podcasts, hands-free photos and video, quick access to an AI assistant and so much more. Photos and videos captured with the glasses are stored privately on the glasses, and users choose when to import them to their phone; only the user can see them unless they choose to share them. To let others know when content is being captured, there is a light on the front of every pair called a capture LED, which blinks white whenever content is being captured for the user’s gallery—briefly for a photo and continuously for a video. The capture LED has no off switch. Meta chose a white light after testing for visibility and experience, including the right level of brightness and frequency of blinking for video. There is a shutter sound that the person wearing them can hear, though it is not practical to make that sound heard at a distance. The camera is disabled when people try to cover up or disable the LED.
