Hyundai Motor Group plans to deploy about 25,000 Atlas humanoid robots across its factories from 2028, using its own manufacturing network to move humanoids from technology showcases into industrial work. Separately, the South Korean automaker will invest about 8 trillion won ($5.4 billion) to build a vast artificial intelligence and software research complex on the southeastern edge of Seoul, as it races to consolidate capabilities. Hyundai Motor Group is also accelerating its transformation into a "physical AI" company combining artificial intelligence and robotics, as it pushes deeper into autonomous driving.
